Disease State Management (DSM)
Chronic conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension and heart failure, are treated most effectively by a team of professionals. Working as part of a medical team, we help implement plans that educate our customers about their prescription histories, and empower them to increase daily activities and improve their quality of life. Helping patients manage their illness reduces future complications. We also offer free blood pressure and glucose monitoring onsite.
Drug Utilization Review (DUR)
DURs are key to reducing inappropriate expenditures and are essential to the quality of patient care. They help us identify allergies, drug interactions and duplications, incorrect dosing, unsuitable therapy and other common problems. Our DURs include a comprehensive review of prescription and medication data before, during and after it is dispensed to help identify potential drug-related problems and ensure that decisions about medication are in the patient's best interest.
Medication Therapy Management (MTM)
MTM helps our customers get better, faster. It includes, but is not limited to, medication therapy reviews, pharmacotherapy consultations, anticoagulation management, immunizations, health and wellness programs, and other quality assurance services designed to monitor the efficacy and safety of medication use.
Immunizations
Vaccines protect individuals from contagious diseases, such as pneumonia and shingles. When a critical number of people in a community are immunized, "community immunity" provides protection even to those who are ineligible for certain vaccines, such as infants, pregnant women and those who are immunocompromised. A Certified Pharmacist Immunizer offers a variety of immunizations, as well as flu shots.
Formulary Management
To encourage use of the safest, most effective and most affordable medications, we work with other pharmacists, prescribers and other healthcare professionals to promote clinically sound, cost-effective medication therapy. Using these healthcare resources effectively improves patient quality of life, reduces medical costs and improves patient access to affordable care.
Health Insurance
Charles Pharmacy accepts all major health insurance, including Medicare, Medicare Part D, Medicaid, Cigna, United Health Care, CVS Caremark, Express Scripts and Medco. We will work with your insurance carrier and doctors to provide the lowest cost drugs whenever possible. Your co-payments will usually be the same as they would be at any retail chain pharmacy.
Prescription Refills & Transfers
We offer several, hassle-free ways to fill or transfer your prescriptions. If you stop in, we can usually fill your prescriptions in about 15 minutes while you wait. You can also call in prescriptions or use our online form. Use whatever method is most convenient for you and we will provide quick, hassle-free service.
Free Home Delivery
Charles Pharmacy provides free delivery within a five-mile radius. We will also deliver any product we carry in our store along with your medications. Please contact us for further details.
